PRESENTATION OF THE BIODANZA AND NEOSHAMANISM EXTENSION

Theshamanismit is the oldest spiritual practice known to human beings.

In the traditional form it is a system of beliefs and behaviors present within different types of cultures. Shamanism is widespread on all continents, fromNorth and South America, atAfricawith its animistic forms,

atAustraliawith the Dreamtime, up to the spiritual forms ofPolynesian islandsand up inAsia.

The word shamanism, in fact, derives from "saman"; used in Siberian Tungus culture and indicates the one who knows.

In Europe, traditional practices have remained only among the Saami (Lapland), but shamanism is reviving its diffusion also in Western culture, through practices which, without referring to a specific tradition, can be anthropologically considered shamanic.

The shaman or shaman, is generally regarded asa healer or healer and a mediator/mediatrix between the known world or ordinary reality and the spirit world.

Shamanic practices of healing and knowledgethey are characterized by common traits present in all parts of the world, so it is a flexible system that has adapted over time. This extension was strongly desired by Rolando Toro Araneda, because he felt that Biodanza and Shamanism have many points in common, but wanted to call it Neoshamanism. It is important to repeat that Rolando had a lot of respect for true shamans or female shamans.He knew that one does not become a shaman or a shaman, but rather one is born. Shamanic wisdom is generally and traditionally transmitted within the family of shamans or shamans. In this area this dowry is recognized in the one who manifests it from the beginning of his existence, because there is an innate predisposition.

So, by calling this extension "Neoshamanism", he makes us understand right from the start that this is only a way of approaching the understanding of what traditional shamanism is by applyingvivenciasof the shamanic tradition, but which in no way transforms us into shamans or shamans, but ratherwe can be shamans or

shamans of ourselves and ourselves, to recover energy, strength, power and health, as the anthropologist saysMichael Harner.

This is an extension that gives us the possibility above all to self-explore ourselves formature our path as operators of Biodanzato then transmit it with prudence and respect to our participants, always considering the shamanic tradition of our ancestors and female ancestors.

• The extension of neoshamanism will strengthen our knowledge of the 4 elements and how to apply them on a ritualistic and ceremonial level, as well as broaden the knowledge of the power animals present in us as magnificent archetypes that over time, we will understand that they are our "guardians" of our existence. Each of us can "travel" in a shamanic state of consciousness, in the Upper World in search of their own "Guide Spirit" from which to receive advice and messages. Or explore the Underworld to meet your own “Power Animal” or “Totem Animal”.
• When we specialize in the extension of neo-shamanism, we give ourselves the possibility of opening a path of harmony and balance between us human beings and everything that surrounds us. A long journey that lasts our entire existence where we learn to evolve our limiting thoughts to open ourselves to a mysterious and fascinating world where many times we have no rational explanations, but rather the possibility of expanding our consciousness in a terrain unknown to us.
